Could someone please help, i have been trying to get information from a HDD (about 5 years old) to put onto my HDD now (running XP Professional). Now i have placed the jumper of the appropriate pins to act as a slave, and XP picked up new Hardware (found U N U) but it would not come up in the My Computer, C drive and all other burners etc came up as usual, but not the HDD i am trying to hook up.
Am i doing something wrong?

thanks

Perhaps the HD contents have been destroyed and Windows is unable to find a filesystem to map as a drive letter?

Check in Disk Management if your drive is there.

hi and thanks for your speedy reply. I have just spent the past 10 minutes looking at the existing HDD in the pc, and i have noticed it is missing a jumper, so i have pulled out another old HDD, so i can borrow the jumper. About to try that. Hopefully this will work

now i have gone to disk management, and it has brought up both HDD, master is ok but the slave says as follows: Disk1 Unkown. has a red minus symbol on it. no idea what to do here.
