Problems after installing more ram.

  1. Hello,

Recently I bought a new game. I met the minimum requirements, and I loaded it, it was running a bit slow so I went out and bought some RAM today. I had 1 gig, and bought another 1.5 gigs. Thinking the game would preform a fair bit better.

Now when I am playing, about 3-4 mins after I start my whole system will freeze or just restart unprompted on it's own. Did I over clock my processor? Below are my system specs if that helps any.

Any ideas why this would happen our how to stop it?

So are you running 2.5GB? Or 1.5GB? Is the new RAM approved for the Dell?

because you didn't read the guides forum on installing ram and troubleshooting that would have told you Dell uses proprietary hardware.

Proprietary means you can only use certain parts approved for use in a particular brand computer. There are memory sources that specialize in selling proprietary memory. You will have to buy the Dell memory from them, or Dell directly. You can do a Google search for this
