Put headphones in the wrong jack and now the on/off button doesn't work and...

no picture shows on my screen! I don't know what to do or what I have done.
I plugged my headphones in one of the kacs at the front of my computer, which I think was the wrong one, as I heard a pulse type noise and then my computer restarted. after this the on/off button won't work and the screen is blank but the disc drive comes out and everything inside and out is connected.
Does anyone know what I could have done and how to fix this?
Any info would be much appreciated...I'm really lost without my own computer

Try following

1. Unplug computer's power cord from the wall (or if this is laptop the battery charger from the power).
2. (Remove laptop battery, if this is laptop).
3. Wait at least 5 minutes.
4. Replug everything back and power (and pray if you believe in god).

If this wouldn't help you damaged your motherboard (or power supply for desktop computer). If this is desktop try other power supply.
