Question on RAM

Hi im a NUB here and i also have a NUB question my friend just gave me some ram im running on ancient old tech. 600mhz p3 im currently running 192mb ram and well they are SDR and my friend gave me a DDR 256mb obviously it didnt work i was like damn. i was wondering if i can change something or maybe if there is something to amke it work .... pleae someone help thanks.

DDR just doesn't fit into plain SDRAM slots and you can damage your computer if you try to force it.

Unless you have one of those motherboards that have both kinds of memory slots (looking at your CPU you probably don't) then there is nothing to do. Sell that DDR or upgrade your motherboard.

kool thanx for the info. if the price is right i might upgrade the motherboard. but just out of curiosity how much does this 256mb ddr pc100 ram go for? thanx for info.

DDR PC2100 maybe? Depending on the brand it could be ~$20 and up. You should also test it first - no need to sell people bad stuff.

the package says pc100 ddr 256mb. but yeah i will try to get pics of it and such.
