quick question about the 9800pro 256mb

i know a few years ago when the 9800pro 256mb version hit the market it ended up performing almost exactly the same as the standard 9800pro 128, i was wondering if with current drivers if any performance increase has occured since then that would make the 256 version actually worthwile.

also would it make a difference if i was planning to overclock it?

If you are planning to overclock, pick one that's 128mb ram.

I don't see how the same chip would perform differently with the same speed of ram. 256mb sure can hold more graphics. That's about it. Plus, games use 64-128mb video ram max.

However, more pc ram would increase performance. Then again, IF the game utilize the extra ram.
