Quicktime install failure

  1. wardofthestates Newcomer, in training

    Quicktime refuses to install, with the following error message:

    Error 1316.A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file
    C:\WINDOWS\Installer\Quicktime.msi

    A previous version refuses to uninstall cleanly, either.

    Any suggestions?

    The problems are likely related. I would extraordinary means, such as Active Kill Disk, to remove the old install then reboot and try install again. Other software that works for us includes Hard Drive Disk Eraser, DRE Hard Drive Eraser, File Erase, or Erase File... Most are free for individual use.
