I'm trying to install an independant RO client on my computer, and the game loads up fine, but when i try to load my character file (newly created), my laptop immediately crashes on the blue screen of doom EVERY SINGLE TIME (which has happened a few times when I tried to play a telenet based MUD, but not consistantly).
This never happened when I installed the trial version of RO from the website--the game played fine and I didn't have issues with crashing save once or twice when the game lagged.
The error message at the blue screen I keep getting is this:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I consulted a message board on one of the independant servers and was told to update DirectX and my video card drivers, which I did, but my laptop still insists on crashing every single time.
My video card's a NVIDIA GeForce FX GO5200, which, from what I heard, is rather tempermental when it comes to installing drivers, but I found a website with alternate instructions and it seems to be working fine on its own.
Any ideas on what I should do?
