Raid problems

Hi fella's,i am trying to set up a raid [0] on my my Abit AG8-3RDEYE mainboard.
My problems is when windows xp finnishes loading drivers, the screen comes
up saying no harddrives detected and so on.
I have just bought a new raptor 36gig to pair up with my other raptor.
The only difference between the 2 is the new one has a 16meg cache
and the other one has a 8meg cache, should not be a problem correct?
In the bios i had to switch to sata [raid] mode. Then set up raid to striped[o]
then F6 to install sata drivers.Does anyone know which sata drivers i should
be using for this board? It did not come with a floppy so i copied the driver
from the abit cd,but there was 2 sets of sata drivers 3112r and 3114r i believe is correct. So i unplugged the older raptor and formatted the new
one,and here i am,frustrated.Any ideas would be very much appreciated, thanks.

It sounds like XP can access the hard drive(s) just fine if it installs, but after the installation, your computer is unable to boot from the drives. What exactly does this error screen look like? Do you have the exact error message? I'm thinking this could be a problem with your boot order... You may have to specify your RAID controller as a bootable device in your BIOS and you may also have to specify your RAID array as a bootable device in your RAID BIOS.

This won't cause your problem, but you may suffer a substantial performance penalty for it. You may want to run HDTach after you get setup to see what kind of performance you're getting.

This is the Abit driver page for your board, so it looks like you have the right model, however, it may be good to downoad the latest driver... just because.. And create a new F6 floppy disk.

Hello rick, thanks so much for the quick response.
I copied the lastest sata driver at Abit.I will check the boot order and try the sata driver again,if i get the error message i will right it down and post it.
Thanks again,dan.

Ok im back to square one, does'nt seem to matter what driver i use at F6 i get the same message after windows loads device drivers,i click enter to install windows xp and the message comes up "Set up did not find any
harddisks drives installed on your computer
Make sure any hddks are powered on an properly connected to your
computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct
Set up cannot continue. To quit press F3.
Im not having much luck here, been going over the bios with a fine tooth comb
in case im missing something, looks like i have everthing right, but there must
be something or the sata driver would pick up the drive, humm.
Dan.
