Just installed 2x2gb PC-6400 800mhz OCZ ram in my machine and it read's 2814.
I've taken it out and reinstalled it to no avail. Machine spec's.

Intel 3ghz HT
Nvidia 690LT sli mobo
8800 GTS 640mb
580 watt psu
2x2gb PC-6400 800mhz OCZ

I have also stuck in 2gb extra of ram on top of the 4gb in it now and it still read's 2814. Any idea's ??? Thanks

If your OS is x32, that is all the ram you will see. It takes the x64 OS to see them all. Hope the problem is simple as such.

Actually the 32 bit OS should be able to read 3GB or slightly over, maybe 3.4GB tops but most likely won't utilize all of that. But either way, if you do have a 32bit OS it wasn't very smart to get 4GB of RAM, you'd be better of with 3GB.

Look at your memory instructions in the nVidia manual. All is explained there, and elsewhere on the Nvidia 690LT sli motherboard site.
