    hi,

i browsed through a couple forums about this. i used to get a green screen whenever i tried to play movies through windows media player (10). i uninstalled all of my codecs and installed 3ivx and ffdshow. this seemed to get rid of the green screen but i still do get instances where the video lags behind severely but the audio plays normally. can anyone give me some info?

Are you sure that the files you're playing are working properly elsewhere? There are quite a few shoddy avi's on the net, where sync is lost between sound and image... This is due to bad encoding and not bad playback, so it might not be anything you can do about it...

Also, you can download gspot to find out which codecs the avi requires to play properly...
