Readiris Pro 9.05 error - Unsupported graphics file format

  1. I occasionally get an odd error that I don't understand in this program

    "Unsupported graphic file format
    1300:c0:184a"

    It then says (several times)

    "Bad or non-existent page file"

The odd part is that it's just a regular jpeg like any other, at least as far as I can tell, which apparently isn't far enough, hence I'm posting here ;).

    Anyone have any ideas?

Isn't ReadIris part of your scanner or scanner software? Do you have it fully installed from the disc that arrived with it?
Do you have Adobe reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Shockwave and other supplemental software installed?

    Yes

It did come with my scanner and I've got all that Adobe stuff. Just for kicks I put the disk in the computer to reinstall the program and still have the same problem... I think there's either somthing wrong with the jpgs that doesn't affect any other program or there's some sort of setting or update that I'm missing.

    A partial solution...

The only thing that I've found so far that will permit me to include the defective jpgs is to print them as pdfs (via Primopdf) before importing them into Readiris. There is a noticible reduction in quality of the image though, but I suppose something is better than nothing...
