Easiest Check is to replace wire with known good.
2nd easiest, to replace speakers and wire with known good.
If no sound, then sound card is likely damaged.

Beyond this, It is probably easier to replace the sound card than try to diagnose and repair...

Realtek alc888 is not simple 2 channel sound... I don't know about costliness of the replacement,
but it is not likely to be cost effective to try to repair if the card is damaged.

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy SE can be bought for about $30.
