recycle bin remains full

hello my recycle bin remains full after i empty it out and every time i go to empty it it say are you sure you wanna deleted these 9 items but nothing shows up in the recycle folder. if you can help it would be greatful i have windows xp, i use avast for antivirus and ad-aware and spy bot for spyware removal and i use a registry mechanic. thanks for your time

oh another thing i dont use nortin either if that helps

Try creating a folder, moving it to the recycle bin, then emptying it. That might get rid of it.

that didnt work it still says that it has 9 files in there and everytime i make a new file and put it in trhere and go to delete it it still says thatthere are 9 files in there, but thanks for the help
