Releasing/Renewal of IPAddress

Hello! I want to connect a separate device to my internet, to do so I must have the correct IP address, but the IP address from my PC was deemed wrong. Therefore I have tried to release/renew my PCs current IP in command prompt, but it gives "No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection * 3, Bluetooth Connection Network, and Ethernet while it has its media disconnected. Not too sure on what that specifically means. Please assist, thank you.
