  1. Hello

Is there a space requirement on root drive C for repair install winxp. All my os's are in different partitions and C drive is mainly for boot.ini and other necessary files and have only about 400 MB free space. When I boot winxp from CD it copies files from CD and hangs with the message " windows starting". Can some body please help me. Thanks.

not sure about a repair install. I'd imagine that the setup creates a RAM drive where it can dump files for quick access....but really dont know the answer....

i'll try and find some more info

    Hello

Many thanks for your prompt reply and the link which is very useful. But I am trying to repair my system which is in a different partition. When I boot from CD, obviously it copies files to root drive C and hangs with the message "Windows Starting". Is it because the free space is not enough to copy all the files ?

    Regards,

    Venkat
