Samsung HT-XQ100R Speaker Cable?

I have recently purchased the Samsung HT-XQ100R 5.1 Surround sound speaker system, the quality is overall impressive whereas the cable length is terrible for the front left and right speakers, it short by atleast a meter, i was wondering if its possible to purchase an extender to the speaker cable or to buy a longer cable??

Please 'enlighten' me,
Also recommend if there is such a thing,

Does it use a headphone jack, an RCA connector, or some kind of proprietary connector?
