Sapphire Radeon 9200 Atlantis Flashing Blocks While Booting

    When I boot my computer, the monitor displays flashing squares until Windows XP has refreshed the screen with the log in icons.
    But if I use Windows ME, the screen doesn’t get refreshed and I can’t see anything apart from flashing squares.
    I am using a Sapphire Radeon 9200 Atlantis and I would like to use Windows ME for my son to play games on.
    I have updated the graphics card drivers but it still does it.
    Windows XP refreshes the screen and takes away the flashing blocks.
    Is there a command that XP uses that I could make ME do as well?
