Search bar problem

So I know this may sound weird and such but you know how you are about to type something on the search bar and that blinking vertical bar shows up after you have clicked on the search bar? Well my problem is I click any where there are letters for example if I click on trending at the top the vertical bar appears and its just getting annoying to look at every time I click anywhere. I don't know if I maybe have clicked some where or maybe messed up the settings or something but I cant find anything to help turn this off. Any one know? if you need a picture of what I mean I can try and take a screenshot.

I could be way wrong, but it sounds like you changed your cursor and you want to get it back to 'default'.
