Shell execute hook

HI all, having problems at the mo, here is one of many,

Counterspy gives me this message:

"A shell execute hook requires approval"

A new Shell Execute Hook for Windows Explorer has been detected. A Shell Execute Hook program is embedded in your Window's Explorer and can control how programs are launched.

Name: {15DAE254-A6FF-11E0-9A84-00C04FD8DBD8}


I have no idea what this means and so dont know whether to accept or block it!

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it!

Hmm. I can't find any info on that. Please post a HijackThis log as an attachment (as per this thread) so we can see what's up.

I definitely recommend you block it for now.

There should be an option in Counterspy that will let you unblock stuff. Info will be in the help file I guess.

I'd block it, cuz you could probably unblock it later. You may want to post a HJT log if it keeps acting up.

Ok will do.

I will post the logs soon as I need to uninstall Norton and get AVG etc then run some logs. Should be back in a day or so/

I have had one or two other problems which has basically led my to post logs on another area of the forum which Howard hasbeen going over for me.
