St1ckM4n Posts: 2,887 +628 Nov 21, 2012 #2 It happens because a program is doing something and isn't yet ready to close. So, it holds up the shutdown process. You can start by opening a command window (Start, Run, 'cmd') and typing tasklist. Paste that stuff here, and we might give you tips.
