My daughter unistalled the Sims from her PC. Now she decided she wants it back. My problem is when I try to install it I get a error message about half way through the process.

an error occured during the move data process:-106
    component : game content
    file group :game content
    file :sound data.far

Can anyone help me with this?

    Thanks,

    Larry

It sounds like the disk is damaged. You usually get that messege when you have a faulty disk.

    Sims

I had exactly this problem. There was no problem with the disc. You can find a registry cleaner specifically for the sims (http://thesims.ea.com/us/getcool/utilities/) I think I got that from the sims website. I ran that & defragged the disc as a first step, but no joy. Then I did some research on the net, which suggested it might be a problem with the speed the cd drive was running (it is a fairly old pc). I was somewhat sceptical however... We have a network so I downloaded clonecd & used my cd drive to make a mirror of the sims cd on her hard drive over the network. I installed sims on her drive from this mirror using daemon tools & lo & behold it works. She has been told NEVER to uninstall the damn game again lol.

This is the thread from my bike club relating to it:http://pub32.ezboard.com/ffazerownersfrm29.showMessage?topicID=49.topic

    Hi Jeff227,

I never did get that to work, I just gave up. Maybe you could try what MurphySG suggested. Good Luck!

I did try that too. I think I have a few solutions I found on the internet. I will post them as soon as I find the pages that have them.
