Sony calls Microsoft offer to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for three extra years "inadequate"

Casual gamers are phone gamers and handhelds, they don't have game chairs, or one of the new game consoles or play Call of Duty...

They save their games, because they play single player arcade games. They don't even need the internet to play...
I'm sensing a false dichotomy here that a gamer is either a "casual gamer" or a "multiplayer gamer". There is a huge market for single player games that are far from casual, and a game not being perpetually connected is s good thing. In fact, quite a few potentially excellent games have been ruined by publishers insisting they be packaged "as a service", seeking constant "engagement" like a needy ex.

Casual refers to the dedication. There are casual Call of Duty players too, who have no idea and no care for their teammates, or know how to play...

Not too many Casuals are buying a simulator for Cyberpunk to drive around in... like they do for ARMA3, or Flight Sims, etc..

Single player games offer no Competition, they are for passing time and entertainment. Coincidentally, team/squad E-Sports are not casual, by their very nature.

And yes, single-player games are almost always casual.

I know people who rip their hair out because an enemy grazed them in a souls game and to them that deserves a restart and I know players who never learned a rotation in ff14 or spend hours playing cod mostly respawning because theyre just not good and love the game.

honestly, what is a casual gamer? in someones eyes if you spend an hour every day playing a game then to them youre a hardcore gamer, imo mobile gamers are casuals but when you look at the cash those games bring in then I would seem wrong.

Millions do. But for Sony it's probably a Billion loss if they don't have CoD and they know it.
I'm cool with that as long as rocket league is still a thing. The Call of Duty games have been getting worse and worse. Battle Royal type games are the worst. Sony may lose tons on Call of Duty, but didn't they acquire Bungie not too long ago?
