Sony Vaio booting problem, won't boot and CD player opens

Hey, guys,

I got sony vaio about a year ago and just last month, it stopped booting.

When I turn it on, 1) CD player just opens and won't close even if I try to push it in, 2) booting stops.
The screen only displays this sony vaio logo and never proceeds to the next process. Does anybody have any idea what might've gone wrong?

I didn't open up the labtop since this is my first labtop.

Please help me solve this problem as warranty is also over (was 1year)

Portables just don't lend themselves to too much Hardware trouble shooting.
You could try blowing the Rom drive(whole computer) out with compressed air.
You have to get the rom to boot the recovery disk or into Setup screens, if you are to have any chance.
Otherwise it's off to the Repair Depot.

My sony laptop had the same problem got it fixed now was a problem with holding the laptop with one hand. Company repaired it for me me as i caused bad contact on the motherboard. Always pick it up with 2 hands . Did you change the memory?
