Sound input issues

Hi there, I recently needed to get a new hard drive, my last one became corrupted, but after doing so, my input sockets no longer work, when I go to plug in my headphones...nothing, it still comes through my regular speakers, how do I get my directsound fixed?

P.s. it worked before I got the new hard drive.

If you reinstalled windows you may need to install the driver for you audio device.

I have updated all the drivers already, it will not recognize anything being plugged into the audio ports other then my speakers
