Sounds Cannot Be Played on My Computer

Hi I need help with my computer. it doesnt seem to play music but plays video but no sounds come out.

I Have a Dell Dimension 5150 with SigmaTel Audio.

When i open itunes it says "ITunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly"

When i play a song on Windows Media Player 11 is says "You've encountered error message C00D11DF while using Windows Media Player."

In Sound and Audio Devices it doesnt seem to register the speakes as is says "No Audio Device"

All My Sound/Audio Devices are working properly in Device Managers

I have tried reinstalling the SigmaTel Device as the Dell Staff told me it did not work and did the Diagnostic Test, i could hear the sounds from my speakers.

Dell has told me the Windows OS may be the problem. and told me to reformat everything then try if it works.

Any Help me please? 1st time i ever got this problem

install windows into a folder called windows1

reinstall Windows xp in a different folder? hmm..

how would i install windows in a windows1 folder...do i need to backup all my files?

just put the win xp setup disk in and when it asks where to install put it in windows1

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Create a new account.
