I seem to have some kind of a blinker in my system tray box and every now and then, it will pop up a message saying that i have lots of viruses and spywares that i need to remove and that i need to download their software to do so.

I have used Hijackthis and I have attached my log. Also i follow your instructions of renaming the .exe and putting it in my program files.

Please help me!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your system is infected with several nasties.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Regards Howard

Download the Pocket Killbox programme from HERE. Extract it but don`t run it yet.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

Tencent
QQ

Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

QQ.exe
ctfmon.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = guestaccess:3128<Fix this if you didn`t set this proxy yourself or don`t know what it is.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {DB8B2393-7A6C-4C76-88CE-6B1F6FF6FFE9} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PD0620 STISvc] RunDLL32.exe P0620Pin.dll,RunDLL32EP 513

O4 - Startup: ÌÚѶQQ.lnk = C:\Program Files\Tencent\QQ\QQ.exe

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: @xpsp3res.dll,-20001 - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\Program Files\Tencent<Delete the entire folder.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xircom<Delete the entire folder.

Run the killbox.exe file. When it loads type the full path to the file you would like to delete in the field and check the delete file on reboot button. press the Delete File button (looks like a red circle with a white X). It will prompt you to reboot, select no until you have finished inputting the files you want to delete, only then allow it to reboot and hopefully your files will now be deleted. If your computer doesn`t automatically restart, restart it manually.

These are the filepaths you need to enter into killbox.

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\Fpzehk.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\P0620Pin.dll

Once your system has rebooted, rehide your protected OS files.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs.

Windows Search Function Stops Working....

My search function on the start menu freezes and stops working for sometime now. I was wondering if some kind of spyware or virus had damaged it or cause it to stop working.

I have merged your new thread into this one.

I wouldn`t be surprised to find you have a malware problem.

I`m still waiting for you to post the logs I requested in my last post above.

Download combofix.exe. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts. A window will open with a warning. Type "Y" (and Enter) to start the fix. When the scan completes it will open a text window. Please attach that log back here. Caution - do not touch your mouse/keyboard until the scan has completed. The scan will temporarily disable your desktop, and if interrupted may leave your desktop disabled. If this occurs, please reboot to restore the desktop.

Post the Combofix log as well as fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs.

Regards Howard :)

I'm back

Freshly combofix, avagas, and hijackthis logs are in attachments....note these logs are from my old dell....not from the previous one that i had.....

Please tell me what's wrong....

Thank you.

Sorry, I didn`t realise this was a different system.

Your system is infected with all kinds of crap. Your AVG Antispyware log says everything has been ignored. You need to read the instructions for AVG Antispyware and pay particular attention to how to deal with the results. I.E You need to tell AVG Antispyware to quarantine the files, then apply all actions.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

We need to temporarily disable Spybot search & Destroy`s tea time, as it may interfere with any fix we are trying to run.

Disable Spybot's TeaTimer. This is a two step process.
First:
- Right click Spybot in the System Tray (looks like a calendar with a padlock symbol)
- Choose Exit Spybot S&D Resident
Second:
- Open Spybot S&D
- Click Mode, check Advanced Mode
- Go To Left Panel, Click Tools, then also in left panel, click Resident
- If your firewall raises a question, say OK
- Uncheck the box labeled Resident Tea-Timer and OK any prompts.
- Use File, Exit to terminate Spybot
- Reboot your machine for the changes to take effect.
