hello i just built my first computer and it powers on but the bios wont boot the monitor LED stays orange and nothing seams to work. specs listed below.

AMD athlon 64 dual core 4200+ socket 939
MSI twin turbo 8600 256mb gddr3 PCIx
Foxconn Winfast micro atx mobo 6150BK8MC-KRSH
Roswell PSU 500W
2x 1gb Ram
Acer 20in monitor al2016w

Depending which BIOS is used press the DELETE key when you start the computer, that should get you in the bios setup. One of the options in the setup is to start the computer with fail safe defaults.
Your motherboard manual should have all the instructions at the end how to get in and configure the BIOS.

One more thing. If you have integrated video as part of the motherboard then you may have plugged you screen cable in the video port of the motherboard instead of the PCIx card and that caused the orange signal. When you install a video card, it disables the MB video port. Plug your screen cable in the PCIx card
Post back your findings......

Is your video cable plugged in the MB port or in the PCIx card port? Switch them around. If it does not work with the PCI card. then remove the card completely from the PC and plug your video in the MB port
