You know how you can choose to "Always hide", "Always show" or "hide when inactive" the icons in the system tray?

Well, I use wireless on my desktop, and every time I boot up there will be the LAN(ethernet) icon coming out. I keep hiding it but it keeps reappearing when I shutdown and power on again.

Not really a big deal, but I'm curious as to why this is happening.
Thanks for reading!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Try this and see if it helps.

Click start/control panel and double click Network connections. Right click your connection and select properties. Untick the box that says "Show icon in notification area when connected" and click ok.

Hmm weird.. apparently "Show icon in notification area when connected" checkbox also means "Show icon even when not connected" XD
I unchecked that and the icon doesn't show up now! Thanks
