TFT and Xbrite?

Ok im looking to buy a new lcd monitor. I want one that is like my laptop screen. except not widescreen. its one of the really clear shiny screens. not like most dull lcd screens. ive heard about Xbrite and TFT. whats the difference? is TFT the same thing as Xbrite?
