Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who answered my questions over the past few weeks. I've never built a PC before but was getting picky enough that I couldn't get what I wanted off the shelf. With a little support from you guys, I built my beastie.
Case: Lian-li PC-65
Mobo: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
PS: Antec TruePower 2.0 550W
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3500 Venice Chipset
Memory: 2x512 Corsair Value Select RAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Video Card: BFG nVidia 6800GT 256mb PCI-e x16
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA 150 160GB 7200rpm
Optical Drive: NEC IDE DVD Burner
Floppy Drive: Samsung 1.44 3.5" internal FDD
Card Reader: Sabrant 42-1 internal card reader
Total Cost from NewEgg: $1,240.00
Seeing it boot up for the first time: Priceless
My wife won't allow me to call it "Sexy Beast", so I've settled for Mr. Kingsley.
Thanks everyone for keeping me pointed in the right direction during this. You're advice was greatly appreciated.
Bob
