    If I had a DVD reader and DVD-R writer, is there a way for me to burn a copy of my DVD straight from the reader to the burner with saving anything on my hard drive?

    I would only suggest that you have your DVD drive and your DVD burner on 2 different cables. This will allow for a quicker process.
