    This is true for all hard drives. The industry "cheats." They call a gigabyte (gb) 1,000 x 1,000 x 1,000 bytes. A "true" gigabyte is 1,024 x 1,024 x 1,024 bytes. When you get to gigabytes the difference is about 7%: a 100 gb drive is actually 93 gb, my 500 gb drive is really 465 gb, etc.

    Hope this helps. I have a question for you (or anyone who knows). How much does this drive cost? So far I can't find a price (using Google).
