Toshiba Tecra 8000 PII 266 Problems

I screwed up some things in the registry and lost my CD drive.
Prior to that, it was running fine, with win 98.

A tech worked on it and installed Win 98 SE.
Then, it started running very slowly.
He got rid of my IR and Parallel port, to free up some IRQ's, installed my Xircom Ethernet card and got the CD working again. I'm not sure which CD controller it should need but this one has the EIDE controller configured now.

I'm looking for a source for Toshiba Tecra 8000 software and manual that came with the Tecra.
I'm also seeking ideas to speed it up.

I'd just like to have the same speed I had to begin with.

There is a guy on ebay that sells a recovery disk for the tecra 8000 PII 266.
My neighbor gave me the very same model and I ,needed to dump the system my regular kill disk would not work on it for some reason. Anyway go to ebay type in toshiba tecra 8000. The guy I got the disk from is called Mr. Canada. It worked for me the only thing is that it loads windows 95. I did put XP on mine after the drivers were in place. It does have all the factory drivers. Hope this helped.
