A Roomba in the Austrian village of Hinterstoder has, according to its owner, woken up from being powered down and hurled itself upon a working stovetop, incinerating the device and leaving naught but a pile of ashes behind.

You know, when I first read the title my first thought was what?

Now that I've read the article, I'm going to repeat my question...What?

So the roomba came to life in the middle of the night and drove onto a working stove and killed itself...what did skynet accidentally get put into a roomba and decide cleaning was so demeaning that it killed itself?

By the way I generally bump into such news on Weave (for WP on my Lumia 920) .......... there you go.

Occasionally I also happen to use Flipboard on my aging S3 for this purpose, at least when it "was" not crashing. Surprisingly, since the most recent manual update of OS, Flipboard has stopped crashing and started lagging . But that is something I consider a standard feature of the OS.

slavery is something that even a robot cannot stomach. it is better that the Roomba incinerated itself rather than rise with the likes of Robert 'Bender' Rodriguez.
