Trouble with connect to network & internet

I am having trouble with my wired internet connection on my desktop PC. The PC is connected to a Linksys router/access point which is connected to a Comcast modem. The PC cannot access the internet nor logon to the AP or ping other local network devices. My other ipads, iphones, and notebooks can access the wifi and internet, although they seem a little slow.

PC was working up until the recent power and Comcast outages in the Northeast.

I’ve tried to re-install the network adapter drivers but that is not working out too well. I’ve had trouble loading “Microsoft LLDP” as it cannot be found.

The desktop is also posting the following two errors upon booting up which may or may not be related –

C:\users\xxx\AppData\Local\Rsopomudyl\byfufhezd.vwot

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may
not have permission to access the item.

Second error is –

C:\users\xxx\AppData\Local\Eljetobn\dutwgx ek.diqxeqy

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may
not have permission to access the item.

The random directory names and file are of concern as I cannot identify their source or purpose. I’ve examined their properties and googled them but come up with nothing.

I have been able to load these drivers –

Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft
QoS Packet Scheduler
Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder
Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver

The network card is identified as an “Intel® 82567LF-2 Gigabit Network Connection”.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

Thought I'd include ipconfig info --

This is the Troubleshooting Report

Network Adapter
Issues found
"Ethernet 2" doesn't have a valid IP configuration Not fixed

Reset the "Ethernet 2" adapter Completed

Also I noticed from the ipconfig report above the PC is using the following address --

Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.7.113(Preferred)

My router is set to assign addresses from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.199. Is this a problem? If so, how do I fix the address so it is in range?

Hi friend. Sorry IDK Maybe @jobeard will see this thread and he will
be able to help you with this issue. I wish I had all the answers, but sadly I don't. Hopefully you will get the help you need here on techspot forum.:eek:Let us know how things go.

The WiFi is connected & correctly configured - - is that connected to the AP or the Comcast equipment?

After a power outage the devices may just be out of sync; try a controlled startup of them all:
  • power off the Comcast & your Router
  • wait 30sec
  • power on only the comcast and wait until it is fully initialized and ALL of the services it provides can be accessed (TV, phone)
  • now power on the router
  • wait another 30sec
Now get another look at IPCONFIG /ALL
