Seems you got your reset...hope it now can learn some tricks. Did you find manual / system repair dox on HP?
I'd have no idea what or where to look for a loose or misplaced jumper on the bios pins. I could post a picture of the general area but otherwise, hmmmSo, I guess that the BIOS is still unable to accept a SAVE which changes First Boot to CD/DVD.
Could you have a missing, loose or misplaced jumper on the "Clear BIOS" pins? You have to check motherboard manual for this one.
I saw that but see nothing resembling image "confused".Check link in post #35, see bottom of page, "Clearing BIOS"
I will let it blink for a loooong time in hopes .A long time...it has to decide what it needs, locate, download, un-zip, organize and install...all using a CPU which is older and less capable...limited RAM... so be encouraged if anything blinks from time to time - "this may take awhile" kind of thing.
I often use Chromium for an old and cranky box - in guest mode you get an idea if everything actually works. Maybe next time.. https://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/download-chromium
Of course, if you can't get BIOS to behave, nothing is going to work.
