Unable to click on Start menu items

  1. Hi all,

    I'm having a problem with 3 of our work @ home users. They VPN in, and use Remote Desktop to connect to a PC here in the office with all their programs.

    The problem they are having is when they click on Start and go to All Programs, they are unable to click on anything in the program list. Doing so does nothing. It doesn't close the start menu. It's like it doesn't even recognize the "click". They are able to click on the icons if they're pinned to the start menu, or any other icon located on the window. Just not on "All Programs". Right click does nothing either.

    I checked the task manager and I didn't notice any processes that were missing or any extra ones. A reboot of the Remote machine usually fixes it, but somethings it does not. It's not a daily occurence either. Happens maybe twice a month.

    Anybody ever seen this before?

    You may find a fix here http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm to set your registry back to open programs from the start menu.

    I have used this site myself and found it quite useful if you however are not sure please do not use as its a registry fix.
