Unable to open Outlook Express

When I try to open Outlook Express to check my emails I get an error message saying 'could not open MSOE.DLL could not be initialized Outlook Express may not be installed properly' but it worked normal up to 2 hrs ago. Do I need to uninstall and re-install Outlook Express and if so how do I do this?.

your install may be corrupted. You will need your XP disk to fix. Go to control panel, add/remove windows components....

btw- Thunderbird is FAR better than outlook and best of all ... FREE

Dave, you have not given us any computer information- for instance the OS and the version of OE. This problem appears in OE5 and earlier:

Assuming an OS when versions of Windows 98 are still in use, through Vista isn't safe. An if it is an earlier version of the OS, it may well be a version of OE other than the current OEv6.

Unfortunately, while it is interesting, you age, place of residence and occupation don't help in solving a computer problem!
