Unwanted login prompt in XP

After setting up a Remote Desktop connection and a separate user (for the first time), I deleted the user. However, now when I restart, I get a User Name/Password prompt, defaulted (which I never had to have before the RDC setup), with a message telling me that the login was incorrect. When I click OK, it buys the login and puts me at another screen with just my ID displayed. I click it, and I get to my desktop. I'd like to boot directly to the desktop. Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

I've deleted all users except myself and guest, and run Registry Mechanic. What should I do now?

Thanks!

Edit the RDP icon and change the login credentials to your account.
Sounds like you double-click an RDP icon with the old users login detains saved.

Not sure

When I go to RDC propeties and click the Advanced button on the Shortcut, I see a checkbox for Run With Different Credentials. It is unchecked. Should I check it?

Okay, I clicked the check box. I got no prompt afterwards, so I clicked OK. I'll post again if I get any new symptoms :) Thanks.
