Update from "Windows XP Installation Problems"

Recently found out that my CPU is NOT being overloaded. Its processes are functioning at normal, being 0 - 12%, just to run Xp. :)

BUT my H.D.D. LED light remains on the entire time!

the wierder thing is, when i switch it over onto my 3 GB hard disk that has Windows 98 upgrade, the H.D.D. light works normally. Somethings up with the 15.4 GB.

i still need help getting my speakers to work (brand new, all connections correct, unsure of the audio wirings on motherboard) and for Windows to recognize my DVD-ROM. <---- please help!

:darth:

Windows will automatically detect a DVD rom- no drivers are required.
your HDD light may not be wired correctly. ensure it is plugged into the correct pins on your MB. (RTFM).

Speakers should work when plugged in and drivers are loaded for sound card. If you have integrated audio, then drivers are already installed. If your speakers are digital, then you may need a digital output on your sound card. Not all speakers are analog (although most are.- the ear really can't tell.)
