Upgrading shared Laptop RAM

My laptop is beginning to grow a bit dated. I have a Compaq Presario 2500 with an ATI radeon IGP 345M, with 32 meg shared, 32 meg dedicated.

I am now about 10 FPS short for some newer games like HL2 or doom 3. I really don't need very much of a boost to play them. What i'd like to know, is if it's possible to up the amount of shared RAM the ATI can use? i have plenty of system to go around.

You can add more system memory and then go into the BIOS and change the Video Aperature to 128mb. You may be able to change that in the Display Properties as well. WIth a system using shared memory Id have at least 512mb of system memory.
