USB Problem Drive F Not Formatted?

Hope someone can help me with this. Every time I plug my camera, PSP, or IPOD into my wife's laptop I get the frustrating message "Drive F Not Formatted. Would You Like To Format It Now?" Obviously I click no. I've read about this problem but all the advice concerns recovering lost data. I just need the Autoplay box to come up every time I plug in a USB device like it did on my old computer. I guess I took it for granted. The laptop recognises all my gadgets and says "now ready to use" but it won't let me. I got my dongle working but nothing else will. It's driving me insane so any solutions or advice on how to change my removable disk drive will be very very much appreciated. Thanks.

I concur. Run a virus and trojan check. Use a good anti-virus program. Boot in safe mode before running. Spybot is also recommeded when checking for trojans.

Thanks for your advice. I'm thinking it might be a problem with the drives but worried about making things worse. I tried applying Autoplay but it just reverts back to what it was before. File system always shows as RAW and the pie chart shows no bytes used or available for some reason.

Knowing someone's location in the world can be extremely helpful, even if you just put a country.

With regards to your problem, run scans like Tedster and denzil_408 suggested, i would recommend using avg and spybot. If it still doesn't work try the Virus/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions
