Usb Stick Major Problem

i plugged my USB stick in with all my college work in, and it says;

this disk has not been formatted. do you want to format it now?

please someone help me, i need to get to those files or its instant death for me ><

i try explore, searching, opening, everything.

it just pops up with the dialog saying this disk has not been formatted, would you like to format now?

is there any where i can send this off? a friend mentioned something about data retrievel or something?

Try another computer first, if that doesn't work then you can use

to recover the data....

im running it now, it says at the top, select format type. there all image files, i just chose gif and clicked start, just to try it out

any pointers in what to do?

Doesn't matter what type you use but it might take a while.....Good luck.

i used the program with the GIF, didnt know anything otehrwise, it found nothing. im sure this is software for recovering photo's dude, when i choose a file format there all pictures. BMP, GIF, JPEG =(
