I recently purchased Dell's XPS 17 (2021) model equipped with Thunderbolt 4 x four (4) ports. I usually use it closed lid connected to Razer's Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma. I use one of the TB4 ports support two (2) external 4K 31" monitors via a TB4 to dual HDMI adapter. I noticed that the bit depth for both monitors, drops down from 10-bit to 8-bit. Would I be better off using two separate TB4 to HDMI cables to get 10-bit instead of channeling the control of two 4K monitors through a single TB4 port to dual HDMI adapter? Would it be better to use a separate cable via two (2) thunderbolt 4 ports? That means I'd lose 2 of 3 available TB4 ports just for the two monitors. I have not tried it yet but before investing in the TB4 to HDMI cables (not cheap) I thought I might get some feedback here. Thanks in advance.
