VGA Monitor Cables

Hi, I have just tried to re-connect two indentical HD15 VGA cables together, after having to cut it in half to fit through an opening in the wall. After soldering all the wires together. Its not working ..... at all. Am I missing something here???? Should be simple ........ right????

When you say "it's not working", do you get any image on the monitor? What is the total length of the cable you made?

You probably messed something up with the soldering job.. And if you shorted the wrong things, then the display or the vid card may be fried too.

Not so drastic...

I get nothing at all. The length of the cable is 10meters, I have another with the same deal thats 20m long. As for the shorting out business, I don't think so, my computers display is fine and it works if I use it with another cable. (projector/Screen).
