Ok i got a neighbor that has a Hp nx9600 series notbook 17" wide screen lcd , 3.0 gighs p4 2meg l2 cache cpu . it has a intel based chipset and a ati radeon x300 64 meg video . now on cpu-z it stated it has a pci-e video card slot . ( not intigrated ) now my question is can i use any type of video card ( pci-e for notebooks ) in it , the owner wants to upgrade video bc autodesk inventor wont install on it bc video requirements are to low . i suggesting a larger video card 6800 line min for it or a x800 for it , his teacher recommended the same type of video cards as well ( just reinterated what i said )

I will have more info on the Mb thats in it if it is needed ..

Are you SURE that it is not integrated?......

The ATI mobility X300 uses PCI-express, but are integrated into the motherboards as far as I know. In which case upgrades are not an option.

That laptop has a PCI-E display adapter yes, but that doesn't mean there is a PCI-E slot anywhere. The video controller is hardwired to the motherboard and there is no way you can replace it.
