Video Codec Vista Issues

By scott.saunders2

  1. Hi,

I am running Vista Ultimate and I am having some really strange problems that appear to be down to the video codec, Now I now that the DIVX codes can cause some problems with Vista but suddently it has got worst for me, to the point that whenever I try and open video file, I get the message that media player or nero showtime has stopped working and then internet explorer resets. DOes anyone know a way to stop this problem or at least a codec that works with vista perfectly for avi, divx or xvids pls?

    THanks

uninstall the codecs you've got there completely.
Try K-Lite Codec pack.. it works ok for my laptop so far..

I second N3051M. You might also benefit from a simple registry edit by RegClean or similar... not a fancy registry edit, but something you can do manually.
