Virtual Memory Low?

Lately, my PC has been giving me a warning saying that my virtual memory is too low. Now... what is virtual memory, and is there a way for me to increase the size of my virtual memory?

Virtual memory is memory designated from your Harddrive (for speedy access) + your installed Ram amount. Basically Virtual Memory = Pagefile + Ram

For Vista
click the Start button
click Control Panel
click System and Maintenance
click Performance Information and Tools
click Advanced Tools (in the Tasks pane at the left side of the dialog box)
click Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
After answering the User Account Control prompt, you’ll arrive at the
Performance Options dialog box. You’re nearly there
click the Advanced tab, and then click Change.

XP is basically very similar location
Your Virtual memory is usually around 2X your installed Ram amount
But for best optimized results you should make both Minimum and maximum Pagefile amounts to be the same, mine is presently on 3Gig for both ;)
After changing select Apply -> Ok, then Restart Windows
