I am using a Dell XPS R450 system where someone has put in some Gateway parts. At any rate, during posting I get a short GATEWAY banner. Does it come from the autoexec.bat or the BIOS or what? How do I get rid of it?

    Thanks

It's Held on the mainboard in ROM. See if there's an option in the BIOS to disable it. If not, you may be able to get rid of it by flashing the BIOS, but be very careful if you decide to do this

If you can't disable the login Gateway screen from the BIOS (though your should be able to), then you can create your own. The main logo is usually titled something such as winnt.bmp. Do a search using .bmp and look at each own to identify the Gateway bitmap. If you decide to replace, then replace, don't delete and leave empty or other errors will appear.
