    Hi
    I have Sony computer, I want to upgrade it to Core duo processor
    , can some one stare me in the right direction.
    can I just change the cpu?
    or do I have to change the whole MB
    if yes then what specs I have to look for?
    also is there any basic guide where I can get the uprading info.

    Are you sure your Vaio model is PCV RA820G, and not PCG RA820G?

    You have a Pentium 4... With a 800MHz bus. You will need a motherboard with a LGA 775 socket
